About the plant :
Myrrh is an aromatic gum-resin produced by the tree of the same name. The history of myrrh is as old as that of frankincense. For the Hebrews, it was one of the main components of a holy anointing oil. As such, it was one of the gifts brought to Jesus by the Magi.
