About the plant :
St John's Wort was used to treat wounds and melancholy. In the Middle Ages, it was nicknamed ‘demon repellent’ or ‘devil repellent’ because it warded off evil spirits. It was also used to treat neurological disorders such as anxiety and depression, which were considered diabolical at the time. St John's Wort essential oil is fairly rare and expensive due to its low yield.
