About the plant :

The wild carrot has long been known for its diuretic effects. It comes from the Latin daucus, which means ‘I warm up’. Indeed, the ancients spoke of the carrot as a warming plant, one that transmits heat. It is also edible, although its root is less appetising than that of the vegetable carrot: it is rich in carotene and is therefore a source of vitamin A, which is essential for vision.
