Bergamot has been grown in Calabria, Italy, since the 18th century. It is said to come from the Turkish word for ‘lord's pear’. The essential oil is highly prized in perfumery for its delicate fragrance and its ‘perfume-fixing’ qualities. Around 100kg of fresh peel are needed to produce 0.5kg of essence.
We use the Bergamot Essential oil in our Eau de Cologne and in our composition Agrumes.
