VETIVERIA ZIZANOIDES
Origin : Haïti
Distilled part : roots
Main components : Acide zizanoique, khusimol, isovalencenol
Vetiver is a plant native to Asia that can grow up to 1.5 metres tall and form clumps as large. The generic name "Chrysopogon" derives from two Greek roots, χρυσός chrysos (gold, gilded) and πώγων pogon (beard), in reference to the colour of the ridges or golden-brown hairs on the callus of certain species of this genus. An aromatic essential oil with a strong, persistent odour used in perfumery or soap-making is extracted from the root of this plant by steam distillation. It is sometimes referred to as "false patchouli". It is used as a base note in perfumes or to protect woollen or fur garments from insect attack.
We use the Vetiver Essential oil in our ambient spray Purifiant.
