About the plant :

In ancient times, Juniper was used in fumigations to ward off infection, as it was a disinfectant, and the twigs were burned in the event of plague or cholera epidemics. It was also believed to ward off demons and witchcraft. Today, juniper berries are used to flavor sauerkraut and pâtés, as well as in certain game dishes and fatty meats, notably because of their digestive properties. An essential oil of common juniper is produced by steam distillation of the berries and twigs. Around 100 kg of berries are needed to obtain 1.5 kg of essential oil.

Here are a few properties of Juniper essential oil:

• It is anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving.
• It combats rheumatism and inflammation.
• It also promotes circulation (for hemorrhoids and varicose veins) and decongests.
• It is diuretic and combats water retention and edema.
• It facilitates drainage and is therefore useful against cellulite.

The recipe :The little anti cellulite oil

Mix :

• 5 ml of Juniper essential oil
• 95ml of Hazelnut vegetable oil

Apply 10 or more drops of this mixture locally, morning and evening, in deep massages.
