About the plant :
It has been known since ancient times for its digestive and aphrodisiac properties. Considered a good-luck plant, it was used in cooking to help digest food and prevent intestinal fermentation. It is also an ingredient in Provençal herbs. Banned from convents in the Middle Ages, it was known as the ‘devil's herb’ because of its stimulating and aphrodisiac properties.
